Reflection 002 – Day 002

I had a list of things that I have to complete before next week. But I am having a hard time starting it.
I was very closed to break my challenge this morning. Especially when I woke up with a heavy head.
But I didn’t. It’s tough but I did it! Now I have to push myself to get my work done.
Reflections 002 – Day 001
As easy and straightforward as it sounds, it requires a lot of hardwork.

Reflections 002

I’m a person who doesn’t do well with unsettled thoughts or questions.
That awful feel of restlessness and anxiety affects my ability to function well.
Hence, it had always been a struggle to push my limits to get things done.
It had always been mind draining and exhausting.
There’s a saying that “it takes 21 days to create or change a habit”. With that in mind, I hereby going to start challenging myself following the above mentioned quote.
Today will be Day 000.
If time permits, or if I don’t get caught up with the writer’s block spell, I’ll try and blog about my progression.
Wish me luck 🙂
SHARING : “The Story of Mulla Nasruddin & The Pots.
One day Mulla Nasruddin borrowed a pot from one of his neighbours and then a few days later he returned the pot with a smaller pot inside of it. His confused neighbour asked Nasruddin, “What is this smaller pot?” Nasruddin exclaimed, “Oh! Good news! While I had your pot at my house it gave birth to this tiny pot!” The neighbour thought Nasruddin was crazy but nonetheless played along and happily took the extra pot. A few weeks later Nasruddin asked his neighbour to borrow another pot, but this time a bigger one because he had a big party of guests. The neighbour happily obliged and lended Nasruddin the pot. After a few weeks passed with no sign of Nasruddin the neighbour went over to Nasruddin’s house to ask him for the pot. When Nasruddin answered the door his neighbour said, ” Hello Nasruddin, can I have my pot back.” Nasruddin eyes suddenly looked sad as he said, ” What are you talking about crazy man?! Pots can’t die!” Nasruddin cleverly replied, “Well since we both accept pots give birth we must accept that they must die too!’ This hilariously crazy story has a very deep teaching. Notice how neighbour never questions the blessings of being given a new pot, but was furious at his pot being taken. How often do we forget to acknowledge and inquire how unbelievably generous God is when we have done nothing to deserve that level of unconditional love and yet when we face hardship we are quick to riot and revolt against the same God who blesses us endlessly despite our ingratitude. Nasruddin was using real life to teach his neighbour a lesson not about pots, but about human beings relationship with God.

Now My Heart Is Full – A memoir; My Roller-coaster ride week; Bigg Boss 2
It’s amusing how impromptu I started this new blog when I have several other personal blogs. It had been years since I had a public blog, and this blog is a sudden urge for me to pen down my thoughts.
Here I am……
First and foremost, thank you very much Sab for the lovely book, “Now my heart is full”. This book took me by surprise. Though I had not experienced motherhood yet, I was able to relate myself and I am overwhelmed by the awakenings.
Last week had been a very emotional week for me. Be it my life happenings, the show I was watching or even the book I was reading. Firstly it was the book which I had mentioned above, made me realise the value of mother and motherhood.
I had been religiously following one of my favourite Local Channel 5 Drama series “Tanglin” for the past, nearly 3-4 years and it will be ending this month. I saw an Instagram post on “Tanglin Reunion” and I had already started to have the withdrawal syndrome.

Followed by Bigg Boss 2, another program I watch. With a lot of conflicts which went on in the show for the past months, last week was an emotional week for all the contestants as well as “us” the viewers. Being the family week, after 70 days, the contestants’ loved ones went to Bigg Boss house to visit them. The overwhelming of emotions led us viewers to also experience it. Moreover it also taught us viewers how important our family is.
PS : Latest news in : Daniel got married!!!! *Claps**Claps*
It was indeed an emotional roller coaster ride week for me. Hope this September will be good one 🙂
Till next time,
Signing off 🙂
PS : Supposed to be my first post.
My First Bite – Subway Singapore
It’s been almost a week since Subway finally launched it’s Halal certification in Singapore. As a Sandwich junkie, I always look forward and never fail to grab my subway sandwiches when I visit my neighbouring country.
Most of the time it will be a take away and I will buy it for the whole family at JB City Square Mall which is just beside the checkpoint before returning back to SG. (It’s just an hour away BTW) . So ya ! That’s how much I love it ! Sooo being a subway lover, when it’s finally halal in Singapore, aren’t I supposed to be one of the “first” to buy it like every other “Kiasu” Singaporean???
Hahaha… Since this week was a roller coaster ride week for me, I didn’t had the chance to visit an outlet to grab one or rather I was waiting till tomorrow to buy it because it was the only day in this week I will end my day early.
But guess what!!!!! I decided to buy it today instead…
As I was walking down the pathway towards my campus, my stomach started grumbling. I last had my meal (brunch) around 11:30am this morning. Well I usually get my coffee and head to class. But this time, I thought “why not grab a sandwich” and I had a hunch that there’s a subway around my campus. Indeed I was right! It was in the basement level (shh I’ve never been there) 🙊. But I’ve never felt this foreign in my life ever. Maybe because I was in daze. I entered the outlet and I looked around and I could not even decide what I wanted. I was exhausted. I even thought of leaving and keep to my plan on buying it tomorrow instead, at the very comfortable place, pace and time.
“Hi miss, what would you like to have?” I stared blankly at the staff! As weird and funny as it seems, I was behaving like a foreigner in my own country ! So dramatic – I know 🤣🤣 …
Being a super boring person – I always go for the safest choice. Tuna or Egg Mayo with lettuce and cucumber. Typical and unadventurous “me” when it comes to food and off course my ever fav “Hearty Italian” loaf.
Well this time I chose Egg Mayo as you see in the picture and felt like I had the BEST sandwich in the world 🤣🤣 ! Oh well, no country (that I know) can beat the quality compared to Singapore when it comes to food ! Whether the loaf or the egg or the lettuce or even the cucumber, it was fresh and crunchy. Yummilicious ! #happykid
Thank you Subway Singapore 😍😍 !!!
SHARING : “The Story of Mulla Nasruddin & the Sun + Moon”
One day the comical Mulla Nasruddin looked pensively at the night sky and exclaimed loudly, “The moon is more useful than the sun!” One of the village people who heard him asked, “Why do you say that?” Nasruddin confidently answered, “Because we need light more during the night time than during the day!” The villagers all began to laugh missing the deep secret wisdom of these words. Scientifically we know the reason the day is bright is because the sun is out, but because we expect the sun to be there we don’t value it as much. We are grateful when we take off the cast on a broken leg and can finally walk, but are we grateful for all the bones in our body that already work perfectly? Why must we be in a tunnel of darkness before we are grateful for the light? We are more grateful when God takes us out of a trial than we are for all the times we were in a state of ease. We are more grate for the hand that reaches down to help us up when we fall down, than for our feet that have kept us standing for most of our life. How often we are more grateful for the random kindness of a stranger than the consistent never ending kindness of Allah? This is why the Qu’ran says, “mankind is ungrateful.” (22:66). In many ways we do value the dim full moon in the darkness more than the bright sun of blessings. Are you grateful and humble for the many things that are going perfectly well in your life? Or are you only grateful when things fall apart and then piece themselves together? Value the light that shines in the darkness, but don’t forget to be grateful for the Light that has always stayed by your side never dimming or fading with the passage of time.

Reflection 001
Sometimes when I feel like giving up, I asked myself why did Allah brought me to this world? What was I created for? What is the purpose of my life? And that’s where I try to go back on track.
“Push yourself because no one else is going to do it for you … “
<3 Helplessness <3
Helplessness is such a rotten feeling. There’s nothing you can do about it. Being helpless is like being paralyzed. It’s sickness. The cure calls for a monumental effort to stand up and start walking somewhere, anywhere. But that takes some doing …….
